Mining Wastes as Road Construction Material: A Review

چکیده
The mining industry manages large volumes of tailings, sludge, and residues that represent a huge environmental issue. This fact has prompted research into valorization these wastes as alternative aggregates for concrete production, embankments, pavement material, etc. use resource construction presents two benefits: conserving natural resources reducing the impacts mining. In case road construction, not yet been developed on scale there is major lack specific legislation. gap due to variety exploited rocks, diversity mine residues, or valuable by-products slated valorization, specifics. paper review recycling including waste rock tailings. Those materials were mostly used in infrastructure where soils had initially poor geotechnical properties (low bearing capacity, frost susceptibility, swelling risk, etc.). Different directly stabilized by hydraulic binder through geopolymerization or, some cases, with bituminous treatment. Overall, will have considerable impact volume offering sustainable raw materials.

Bricks: an Excellent Building Material for Recycling Wastes – a Review
Brick is one of the most common masonry units as a building material due to its properties. Many attempts have been made to incorporate wastes into the production of bricks, for examples, rubber, limestone dust, wood sawdust, processed waste tea, fly ash, polystyrene and sludge. Recycling such wastes by incorporating them into building materials is a practical solution for pollution problem. Th...

Theoretical review of ‘mining pit lakes’ indicates that like natural lakes such lakes display a huge diversity. They are typically in a non-equilibrium state with respect to their surroundings. Hence, at the decommissioning phase of mining operation a detailed technical study are required on different aspects of such created water bodies considering its morphometry, geology, hydrology, water qu...
متن کاملA Study of Chunk Rubber from Recycled Tires as a Road Construction Material
The feasibility of using large rubber chunks from shredded tires as aggregates in coldmixes for road construction was investigated in this study. The research was directed toward development of a chunk rubber asphalt concrete mix design for low volume road construction using local aggregate, shredded tire rubber chunks and a cationic emulsion. A set of mixes using different combinations of chun...
